Former Trinity student, Amiri Harewood, made his professional debut at the Royal Festival Hall earlier this month.

Following a performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto with the Chineke! Orchestra, he received a standing ovation and glowing review in The Times.

Amiri, who left Trinity in 2020, has just completed his first year at the Royal College of Music.

He will next perform in Rotterdam and Eindhoven, and will act as a young ambassador for the Leeds Piano Competition this autumn.

Head of Piano, Mr Evans, said: “Needless to say we are immensely proud of Amiri’s achievement. Things are really happening for him, which is tremendously exciting!”

Well done, Amiri!

“This was a Festival Hall debut of considerable panache, and the enthusiastic audience immediately treated him as a friend”
