The Lower Sixth recently took part in our annual public speaking workshop.
This event challenges students to hone their public speaking skills, and to cope with the pressures of standing up in front of their peers.
Each student in the year group gave a short speech – initially to a group of 20 peers – with the best two speakers from each group being selected to take part in a public showcase in the afternoon, judged by Mr Kennedy.
After an outstanding day of speeches, covering everything from blueberries, to astrophysics and park runs, in which everybody did themselves proud, the three best speakers, as chosen by the judges, were: Henry Bishop in first place; Safiya Tiotto-Smith, in second place, and Joshua Todd in third place.
Well done to all involved!
