Six Upper Sixth Form students recently took part in the British Biology Oympiad, a national competition for pre-university students which tests their practical and theoretical biology skills and represents an opportunity for students to expand their talents.
The competition celebrated its 25th anniversary this year with 8476 students from 622 schools worldwide taking part.
Only 5% of students taking part in the British Biology Olympiad received Gold awards while 10% were awarded Silver and Bronze.
So very well done to Anoushka Samanta and Tom Leigh for their Gold awards; Theo Flanagan, Fraser Myers and Tanya Jayakar for their Silver awards; and Sivakami Thillainathan for her Bronze award.
“The Upper Sixth is an extremely strong group of Biologists. As a result of the assessments after Easter, only six of our students took part but all achieved medals!”
Mr Moralee, Head of Biology
