The U13A Football team have played superbly in recent months, making it through to the highly competitive Quarter Final of the National Cup.

Mr Wilson, Head of Football says: “The ISFA tournament is the most competitive National Tournament in the schools schedule. It is massively respected as the one to win. For Trinity to get to the quarter final of the shows how far this group has come. The next tournament starts in early September. I am incredibly proud and looking forward to seeing the teams in action next year.”

The U13A team’s coach, Mr O’Connor adds: “The team reached the last eight in the country and, although a frustrating quarter final game did culminate in defeat, the way in which the side performed advocated the story of their season perfectly.

“A tremendously exciting team to watch – with consistently solid defensive displays from Fasida, Azugbene, Gayle, Bonner-McCarthy and James allowing creativity to sparkle ahead of them from the likes of Godoy, Knight, Thomas, Rivet, Morrell and Nwosu. Goalkeeper, Jacob Ashley, has always been well protected, and in fine form when needed.

“Throughout the season, the side have been complimented by the younger generation of U12 players bolstering the ranks. Regular high level performances from Woode, Bonsu-Amako and top goal scorer Agbandje … exciting times ahead!”

Second Year student, Aston Gayle, says: “It was a pleasure being part of such a skilful and hardworking football team. We played for each other and helped each other out every step of the way. We’re all looking forward for the cup next year and are now working harder than ever – hopefully to go all the way next time.”

Edward, who was team Captain, adds: “I feel extremely proud of how far we’ve got together. Hopefully we can progress over the next couple years as individuals and as a team. None of this would have been possible without Mr O’Connor and Mr Wilson.”
