Our junior climbing team recently competed at Brighton’s Withdean Climbing Centre.

The team were up against some of our fiercest rivals in the South East (including some who represent GB) and were tasked with taking on 20 ‘bouldering’ problems and four ‘top-roping’ routes within two hours – a tall order!

The boys were quick off the mark, notching up some early points, but the quality of the opposition became increasingly obvious.

Although their energy reserves began to run out, some hard-won points were being added until the very last moment and a huge amount of credit goes to Samson Terrett, Joe Cassidy and Nikolai Shulgin, who hung on until the bitter end.

We are at the beginning of our climbing journey and the team were proud to come away with tired arms, a great deal more experience, and their heads held high.
