Just before the end of lockdown, most of the school took part in our first Off-timetable Electives in which students and staff chose activities for half of the day that were designed to offer them engaging, challenging and enriching things to do – but also to break the routine of online learning and get a rest from screen-based activities.

The output was impressive – from sushi and curries to cakes and muffins; Spanish vocabulary monopoly; wonderful nature photography; a variety of impressive animations – and much, much more. The results of some of the students’ efforts and creations can be seen in the photos below.

“Activities ranged from designing a board game for primary schools that would keep the students active, to cooking challenges, community projects or the challenge of completing our very own Crystal Maze.”

Matt Richbell, Director of Co-Curricular Activities
