Second Year Computing students entered the BEBRAS competition this year with the cohort performing extremely well.
The BEBRAS competition tests students on their computational thinking and problem solving skills.
Six students managed to score within the top 10% of the whole UK cohort and therefore got a Gold award in addition to their Distinction Certificate. These were Caleb Thompson – who also scored Best in School – Max Gomulka, Adam Herd, Harry Boland, Oliver Sayburn and Maxwell Hardy.
The six students also qualify to take part in the Oxford University Computing Challenge, a prestigious invitation only competition held in February.
This is an outstanding achievement given that 123,000 students aged 12-4 took part nationally and we can’t wait to see how the boys get on at the next stage.
Well done to all those involved, with particular congratulations to Caleb!
