Sixth Form student, William Bridges, recently won an Adidas raffle on the brand’s app and decided to gift the kit to those at Hope secondary school in Malawi.

The students there were photographed in the kit, and spoke of their overwhelming excitement on receiving it from their friends at Trinity School.

Sara Goodman, Trustee of Hope4Malawi, said: “I am here in Malawi and had the privilege a couple of weeks ago to present your wonderful gift … as part of assembly we talked about gifts so it was a perfect opportunity. The reaction was electric, a roar of excitement.

“It’s wonderful for the new school to have their own football kit; a huge privilege as new football kit would be very difficult for the school to be able to afford.”

“I got the kits from winning a competition on the Adidas app and thought they would be the perfect thing to donate to the school in Malawi. After sending a few emails trying to sort out the logistics of the donation, I gave the box of 15 jerseys, shorts and socks to Mrs Carey who organised its journey to Malawi.”
