As part of the Diploma programme, Upper Sixth Form students recently enjoyed a two-hour workshop on self defence, delivered by an external provider, Defence Lab.
Ms Gilmour, Head of Diploma, explains: “The main focus of the session was on personal safety and how to avoid getting into danger in the first place. This included how to keep aware of your surroundings when walking and how to use your stance and words to calm someone who may be being aggressive towards you. As part of the session the students were also taught some key self-defence moves against one or more attackers with particular attention on how to block and keep yourself safe. We look forward to welcoming Defence Lab back in March!”
