We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding set of A Level results achieved by our Upper Sixth students. They have achieved a higher proportion of A* grades than any Trinity year group pre-Covid, with 33 students achieving three or more A*s.

In a cohort of 168 students, 32% of the A Levels taken were graded A*, with 67% A*A (against a national average of 28%) and 91% A*AB.

For many, the results confirm their next steps and already 94% of the year group have secured places at their first or second choice of course beyond school. Twelve students who secured offers to the highly competitive Oxford or Cambridge universities can take up their offers. In addition, seven students who secured equally competitive places on degree apprenticeships schemes are looking ahead to starting work in September.

Alasdair Kennedy, Headmaster, said “These grades represent an excellent set of achievements by our students. They have worked hard, and these results will open doors to great opportunities for them. The character and values they have shown are most impressive however and will continue to serve them well.

“It was lovely to celebrate this with so many students and their parents this morning.  We are proud of both them and the range of interesting routes they have chosen, and we wish them every success in the next stage of their education.”

Ronak was one of nine students to achieve four A*s. He said, “The feeling is amazing, it’s insane! It feels like a massive pressure has been lifted and my future has been decided. I am going to Cambridge to study Computer Science and plan to go into cyber security. Coding Club at Trinity has been so useful to help me develop my coding skills. I can’t wait to go to Cambridge, it doesn’t feel real – it’s very Harry Potter – and I have a friend going to the same college, which is great.”

Ohemaa was one of the 43 girls who joined the Sixth Form in 2022 and says, “I got more than I hoped for – three A*s – and am off to study Medicine at Imperial! It was Trinity that inspired me to pursue Medicine. When I joined Trinity, I attended MDV (Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary) Society which was really useful in helping me decide what I wanted to do. I am so glad I came here; the social aspect has been brilliant, and I have made friends for life.”

Tom achieved A*A*AB and is heading to Edinburgh to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). He said, “I am very relieved to be off to my first-choice university, my family is thrilled for me and I’ve already spoken to all my grandparents! The course aligns to the A Levels I studied, so it felt right to pursue it. I fell in love with Edinburgh during the open day and cannot wait to start.”

Last year, Liam won a Samsung national engineering competition with two school friends and this year he is off to study Aeronautical Engineering. He said, “I’m feeling pretty great, I’ve been accepted by my first choice, Southampton University. I decided in the Fourth Year what I wanted to do, and worked backwards from that, so am pleased to be on track. My biggest takeaway from my time here is that when you create an environment that is as inclusive and supportive as Trinity, the results take care of themselves. I am so thankful for my time here.”

Sivakami says, “I was expecting AAA, but got A*A*A, so am really pleased. I am off to Oxford to study Law. I haven’t thought much about going yet, but getting the results has made it real, so I’ll need to start planning soon! Even though I have only been at Trinity for two years, I have made amazing friends for life and Trinity has helped me develop confidence. I look forward to taking it forward to university.”

Quinn beat 4,500 applicants to secure one of 15 degree apprenticeship places in Technology with Morgan Stanley and starts work in September. He said, “I have been really worried about the results, as I still needed to achieve ABB to secure my place, and I got AAB. I am excited to go straight into work, though a bit nervous, as I am sure it will be a challenge.”
