Two of our Rugby stars have been representing England in high-profile Rugby matches: Conor Byrne played for the England U18s against Wales and Scotland during the holidays and, more recently, Josh Bellamy played for the England U17s against Scotland.
Josh says: “I am glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of the England squad and took a lot away from it. I now want to work at improving my game and hopefully get more opportunities in the future.”
Meanwhile, Conor described playing for England as a ‘great’ experience and one he can learn from: “Both the Wales and Scotland games were tough but it gave me the confidence that I can aspire to play at that level moving forward.”
Mr Roberts, Head of Rugby adds: “Having joined Trinity for Sixth Form in September, Conor has had a tremendous year on the rugby field. He worked hard during the preseason, immediately making a strong impression on the squad, and from there he has continued to progress. I am delighted that he was given the opportunity to play for England and challenge himself further. I know that he will have learnt a lot from it and hopefully this will just be the start of his international journey.”
“Josh has also made enormous progress this season and I am delighted he received the recognition of an England call up. He had some incredible moments for us in a 1st XV shirt and he also impressed when playing for Harlequins U18s. I know he will be keen to make further progress next year and look forward to seeing how he can take his game to the next level.”
