It’s time to recognise two students for their approach and commitment to Sport at Trinity and announce the Trinity Sports Players of the Month for February. This month, Second Year student Humphrey Bedford and Lower Sixth student Hannah Karpal have been nominated by the Sports Department.
Here, Mr Kench, Trinity’s Director for Sport, explains why each student has been selected:
“Humphrey Bedford has been awarded Sportsman of the month for February. Humphrey is an example to all in Trinity Sport, with his wide-ranging scope of activity and consistently high effort levels. This award is thoroughly deserved recognition.
“In Basketball, he has trained exceptionally hard and shown huge progress for the U13A team. In Hockey, he has represented both the U13A&B teams, consistently being a fantastic team-mate and strived to improve. In Rugby Sevens, he is one of the key performers in a talented team and finally, he has had a stellar season so far in the pool representing both the Swimming team and Water Polo teams respectively. Over the next few weeks, he will be involved in the final stages of cup competitions across multiple sports and we wish him all the very best of luck.”
Hannah Karpal has been deservedly awarded Sportswoman of the month for February.
“Since joining Trinity in September 2022, Hannah has represented Great Britain in Power Lifting. She was a key member of the Girls’ 1st XI Hockey team. In Netball she has consistently represented the 2nd VII, setting the standard when it comes to giving her best effort. In the last few months, we have also witnessed Hannah represent the Girls Football 1st XI as well as show incredible promise and talent in the Girls’ Rugby, in both the 15-a-side game and also for the Sevens team.
“What underpins all these fantastic contributions has been Hannah’s training ethic. She is one of the first in the Strength and Conditioning Centre before school and always leaves having trained incredibly hard.”
Congratulations to Humphrey and Hannah for this award.
