Lower Sixth student Tom Mogford has had two images shortlisted for the Young Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2019 Competition, with one being Highly Commended.

The worldwide competition is run by the Royal Greenwich Observatory with over 4,500 entries from 90 countries across all categories.

It is a fabulous achievement for Tom to have two entries shortlisted in the same year. The official award ceremony took place at Greenwich Maritime Museum last night, where one of his images was Highly Commended and received a mention in the Guardian.  Tom was also invited to attend the official opening of the exhibition as a VIP on Friday morning.

Both of Tom’s images will appear in the exhibition at Greenwich, which runs until Summer 2020.  They will also appear in the accompanying book.

Well done Tom!
