Trinity student, Alexander Molony, is voicing the lead character in a new animation series of Alex T. Smith’s hit children’s book series, Claude, which is set to air on Disney Junior this summer.

Alexander joins a cast of stellar British actors including Simon Callow CBE, Anne Reid MBE, Shane Richie, Su Pollard and Jane Horrocks, as they tell the story of the beret-cladded dog and his sidekick, Sir Bobblysock.

Colin Williams, the Series Producer said, “I knew Alexander was perfect to play Claude the minute I heard his voice. Positive, friendly and kind, Alexander was just what we were looking for” and Alex T. Smith, the bestselling author-illustrator of the series, agreed that Alexander was the perfect voice for his beloved Claude the moment he heard his voice audition tape.

On being chosen, Alexander said, “I was very excited to be chosen as the voice of Claude because I have always enjoyed the books by Alex T Smith, with their colourful characters and zany situations. Recording the episodes was great fun as the scripts were hilarious. The team were really friendly and I can’t wait to see the finished series on television in the summer!”

Alexander recorded the 50-episode series over a number of months, and also sings the theme song. Due for release in the UK this summer on Disney Junior, the Sixteen South production will also air in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia.
