Our senior climbing team competed at the multi-disciplinary Independent Schools Regional Competition this week.

Captained by Lukas Cobb, the team comprised of Julian Bromberg, Brodie Foxley, Krish Oza, Cai Edwards and Ross Ah-Weng.

They competed in three categories: bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, in a very challenging set of problems (graded up to 7b+) at the Rockstar Climbing Centre near Swindon.

Lukas Cobb said “Although challenging, the climbing competition was a great experience for the Trinity climbing squad, teaching us about not only the technique required to complete difficult boulders, but also the endurance required for longer top rope and lead climbs. I found the competitive environment particularly enjoyable, but the willingness of other climbers to offer advice as to how to top a problem was most inspiring of all.  It was great to see the whole team develop as competitive climbers, we will now all be embarking on a training regiment in the hope of coming away with a medal next year”.

The team showed great sportsmanship and resilience throughout the competition and we are extremely proud of them for the hard work they put in to prepare for the event.
