In the recent national Upper Sixth Physics Olympiad competition Trinity students came away with their best-ever set of results.

“I’m delighted with this fantastic set of results which has smashed previous records. We achieved our highest ever number of Golds and it is the first year that every student achieved an award. The results are a testament not only to the ability of these students but also to their work ethic over the last two years and their diligence in attending the weekly further Physics sessions,” says Mr Flanagan.

This year 1,606 students from 270 schools participated from the UK and from a few schools overseas as well as a further 2,000 students in China.

Krish Oza and Daniel Warren both received the Top Gold score, with Theo Flanagan, Eleanor Fisher, and Josh Temple also receiving Gold awards. Aly Ramsey, Alex Wong, and Tom Leigh were awarded Silver and Krishan Shah, Thomas Mogford and Amaan Afridi Bronze. The two Top Gold students will be invited to compete for a place on the national team, adds Mr Flanagan.

With only 6% of students receiving a Top Gold and 8 % a Gold award, this is a fantastic achievement. Very well done to all those involved!
