A group of aspiring medics and dentists recently visited King’s College Hospital.
Lower Sixth students met with Mr Duncan Bew, a Consultant in trauma and acute care and Clinical Director of major trauma and acute surgery, who took time to show them some of the realities of working in medicine.
Our students were introduced to the multitude of roles and responsibilities available at the hospital by meeting many of Mr Bew’s colleagues; discussed the realities of working in the sector, and enjoyed a guided tour of the departments.
For many of the group, the highlight of the visit was climbing the 10 stories to the hospital’s helipad – not for the faint-hearted!
Thank you to Mr Bew and the staff at King’s College Hospital for being so welcoming and giving our students such a fascinating insight into the sector.
