Our students enjoyed working at various locations across our local community during Field Day last week.
175 students took on 17 different placements in the community, which included a visit to Fellows Court and Hall Grange Care Home, where students chatted with residents and assisted with activities.
Other students visited Bensham Manor to help with their allotment and Highfield school to assist with sports sessions.
Two more groups worked at Shrublands Trust, sorting donations and packing food parcels, and Stanley Halls, where they assisted with a clear up and general painting.
Our Junior and First Years visited the Imperial War Museum and The Globe Theatre, and our Third Year students spent the day thinking about masculinity and challenging some stereotypes.
We also hosted primary schools at Trinity and our students assisted staff in running DT, History, Classics and sports activities for them.
We hope that this opportunity to look outwards and engage in the world around them gave our students a sense of reward, particularly from assisting local agencies and charities, and by giving some of their time and skills.
With thanks to all those that took part – we’re looking forward to next term’s Field Day!
