Congratulations to Teshan Seneviratne and Jake Bond who have been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Scholarship.
Teshan and Jake have been selected after successfully passing the Arkwright Aptitude paper, demonstrating flair and originality in solving Engineering Design problems and presenting their Design and Technology GCSE work to a panel of interviewers. The selection process culminated in an interview and a team exercise providing the interviewees with an experience of the challenges of engineering related careers.
The Arkwright Trust was founded in 1990 and supports young people during their A Level years by awarding £300 a year to assist with their studies. The Design and Technology department receives £200 per student for the next two years, which we will use to enhance the co-curricular activities of the Lower School. Scholarships are supported by individuals, companies, institutions and the services. The scholars will also have the opportunity to partake in work experience and be mentored by their sponsor.
