The U14 rugby team has progressed to the quarter finals of the National Cup, with a 15-5 win away at Ravens Wood, reports Mr Roberts, Head of Rugby:

“The team made a flying start, keeping the ball well and looking dangerous out wide and, after some brave Ravens Wood defence, it was Cameron Buxton who eventually broke the line to score in the corner.

“Ravens Wood looked to hit right back but crucially Trinity managed to defend its line, with Max Anderson making a number of important tackles and Ben Beadle getting the vital turnover to relieve pressure.

“After Trinity was unable to capitalise on a long period of pressure, Ravens Wood did manage to tie the game early in the second half. With the home support cheering them on, it looked like momentum was turning. However, the Trinity squad maintained its composure and was able to seal the victory with two late scores from Ben Beadle and Ezekiel Asigo.

“This was a fantastic team performance against a strong Ravens Wood side. The team showed great character in pressure moments and kept its composure in a tight contest. Lots to work on and lots to be excited about ahead of the quarter final!”

Well done to the squad – Cameron Buxton, Oliver Haydon, Matthew Oppong, Ollie Young, Oliver Styles, Benjamin Beadle, Oliver Stephenson, Daniel Aisa Miller, Harry Webzell, Max Anderson, Thabo Ncube, Kaiden Watson, Chibueze Ajaegbu, Freddie Scott, Ezekiel Asigo and Johnny Wilkie.

Good luck in the next round!
