Last week our U18 girls water polo team competed in the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA) national finals, narrowly finishing in fourth position.
The team beat Bedford Modern 3-1 and then St Bede’s & St Joseph’s 5-0. They went on to defeat Alleyn’s 8-1, but Alleyns won the tournament on penalties. This left Trinity facing a third / fourth place play-off with Bedford again, where Bedford won 3-1.
All credit to the girls for their fighting spirit, to Lidia Toft as team manager, to captain Sarah Rogers organisation, and to Imogen Smith for fighting through illness to be top scorer.
Well done to the squad of Izzy Newbold , Abby Davison, Stella Fisher, Imogen Smith, Funmi Morgan, Niamh Singleton, Shreya Ganguli, Sarah Rogers, Nicole Bambroffe, Josephine Baker, Georgie Gill, Phoebe Dennis and Stephanie Joubanian.
